WATCHING YOU II ! – Peregrine Falcon in Flight

There is an electrifying moment when watching a peregrine falcon where everything stands still, right before the explosion of pure speed. This sculpture is my attempt to freeze that breathless energy—not just to replicate the anatomy of the bird, but to capture its very spirit, tension, and fierce intent.

For me, sculpting wildlife is never about creating a static replica. It’s about the feeling of the animal. With this peregrine falcon, I wanted to convey the sheer power held within its frame. Sculpting in wax, allows me to use the tool marks, wax texture and raw thumbprints to remain visible in order to give a deliberate celebration of imperfection that allows a piece to feel truly alive. When you look at this falcon, I don’t want you to see a flawless, frozen object; I want you to feel the wind, the tension, and the imminent burst of flight.

The bird of prey can sit comfortably on a slate base inside, or on its own plinth outside in a courtyard or lawn.
