KISSING MICE – Pair of Mice sitting on Pebbles (indoor or garden piece)

This was a sculpture commission of two mice and when I began, I felt rather daunted to know how I was going to turn a sculpture of  mice into a work of art and provide a story.  I was keen to position them in a really precarious position on top  of a stack of pebbles, so they looked as they were about to fall but I wanted them to be integral to the pebbles which essentially acted as a plinth.  I also wanted them to work together as one piece although they were also lovely on their own.  They took on their own personality….so one is very much older and wiser, perhaps trying to help the young innocent mouse before they fall from a dizzy height.  The shape of the eyes, and their face says it all!

So when you move around this bronze sculpture, there are different shapes and angles which move as you move…..and so the whole sculpture comes alive, despite them being frozen in a moment of time.

This bronze sculpture of two mice could be positioned in a prominent position in the home, or outside, in a small alcove, or garden table, as centre stage.

They are cast in white bronze, so they can be highly polished to give a strong contrast to the patinated stone pebbles and as white bronze, they maintain their surface colour even when left outside for sometime.

These mice, are cast as an edition of 12 and can be cast in white bronze, as in the photographs, or traditional bronze.
